The return of Esther González, the great novelty on Montse Tomé's list

Montse Tomé, women's national team coach, provided this Wednesday the squad list for the qualification matches for the Swiss Euro 2025 against Belgium and the Czech Republic. The first match will take place in Belgium, on April 5 and the second, in Burgos against the Czech Republic on the 9th of the same month.

The main novelty on Tomé's list is the return of Esther González who is enjoying a new experience in the United States with the Gotham shirt. The Grenadine, who was not called up to play in the Nations League, achieved goal number 3,000 in the NWSL a few days ago, historically the best women's soccer league in the world.

Montse Tomé maintains the usual block compared to the last list with eight Barcelona players. She returns to repeat the young 17-year-old midfielder Vicky López and also Alexia Putellas, now without the previous conflict due to not having received a medical discharge. Tere Abelleiro, from Real Madrid, is in the same situation. It is expected that both can enjoy minutes.

Patri Guijarro will not be there. The Barça player, who confessed to having spoken with Markel Zubizarreta regarding a possible return for the Olympic Games, continues to maintain her position of not returning to the National Team for, among other reasons, the current crisis of the RFEF. Claudia Pina and the injured Mapi León are shown along the same lines.

The complete call is as follows:

- Goalkeepers: Misa Rodríguez (Real Madrid), Elene Lete (Real Sociedad) and Cata Coll (Barcelona)

- Defenders: Ona Batlle, Irene Paredes (Barcelona), Olga Carmona (Real Madrid), Laia Aleixandri (Manchester City/ING), María Méndez (Levante), Laia Codina (Arsenal/ING) and Sheila García (Atlético de Madrid).

- Midfielders: Tere Abelleira, Maite Oroz (Real Madrid), Aitana Bonmatí, Vicky López, Alexia Putellas (Barcelona).

Forwards: Athenea del Castillo (Real Madrid), Mariona Caldentey, Salma Paralluelo (Barcelona), Jenni Hermoso (Tigres/MEX), Lucía García (Manchester United/ING), Eva Navarro (Atlético de Madrid), Esther González (Gotham) and Alba Redondo (Levante).
