The PP subscribes to Ayuso's statements on immigration

The spokesperson and deputy secretary of Culture of the PP, Borja Sémper, has assured that the Popular Party is “absolutely in agreement” with the statements made last Wednesday by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, on immigration.

Ayuso blamed the Government for the “great wave” of more than 1,200 immigrants transferred to a reception center in Alcalá de Henares, and stated that the PSOE carried it out through “night planes, and in secret.” Likewise, the president of the Community listed “the fights, outbreaks of scabies and serious brawls” recorded by the center, to which she added the “investigation of several sexual assaults reported by women in the municipality.”

The Government described Ayuso's words as "racist, very dangerous and irresponsible speech" and demanded that the Madrid president apologize to the migrant community and rectify her statements last Thursday. Likewise, the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, denied that the two sexual assaults have any connection with the migrants, according to data provided by the National Police.

Sémper has reiterated the party's support for the position of the president of the Community in an interview this Friday on Tele5. The spokesperson assured that the party is “aligned with Ayuso's position”, and added that they have “seen the complaints” but that they are waiting for the police investigations.

The Deputy Secretary of Culture of the PP has also joined the criticism of the Madrid president, after stating that “the Government is treating these people (migrants) in an absolutely irresponsible manner” and has denounced that “there is no coordination or information to the local and autonomous authorities” about the situation. In the same sense, Sémper has appealed to the responsibility of the Executive who, in his opinion, is using the situation “for political disputes.”
