The PP defends "real and effective equality" against the "failures" and "hypocrisy" of the Government

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, took part this Friday in Córdoba in an event to commemorate International Women's Day, in which he presented, in a colloquium with "four free women", the initiatives defended by the main party of the opposition for the sake of "real and effective equality" between men and women. And they are based on motherhood and work-life balance, which are the key, in his opinion, to the wage gap that exists in Spanish society.

After outlining the equality policies that the different PP governments have been applying since 2002, such as the first aid for motherhood and the first action plan against sexist violence, among others, Feijóo pointed out that "the pending revolution is conciliation", so at the end of the event he announced that his party will present a plan to make it economically viable.

In this sense, he stated that after the meetings held with different organizations and entities, the PP has identified two measures that can be adopted to improve "time autonomy" and that allow combining work time and family life: the flexible week and a bank of hours, which, unlike the "occurrences" of the Government, could be applied in a way that the productivity of companies would not suffer.

For Feijóo, the policies of the Junta de Andalucía, governed by the popular Juanma Moreno since 2018, are an example of what the PP proposes in terms of equality in the different administrative areas, with conciliation measures that allow women not to she disengages from the labor market by becoming a mother and that female employment grows in the way, as she has stated, it has done since that year.

"Our legislative decisions, but also our economic and labor policies, testify that they seek real and effective equality," reiterated Feijóo, who has accused the left of dividing society against a "reformist" party like the PP, which understands equality as a transversal axis of all departments at a time when, the popular leader has congratulated himself, 70% of Spaniards have an autonomous government of their party.

But apart from the proposals on conciliation, Feijóo has taken advantage of the event to insist on the attacks on the PSOE for the amnesty and the Koldo case and has pointed out the three "failures" of the Government in terms of equality: the law of only yes is yes, brag about abolishing prostitution and the trans law.

In the first case, because "thousands of aggressors have benefited from the yes-yes law," because "more than a thousand sexual abusers have had their sentences reduced" and "more than a hundred people convicted of abuse or rape have been released from prison." , as detailed, which is why it was necessary to modify the rule. "In addition, group rapes have increased. This is not a criticism, these are the facts," she stated.

Secondly, because the Government, in his opinion, often boasts about abolishing prostitution "when the PSOE has had sordid corrupt plots that sadly always lead to the same places", in reference to the use of public money to pay for brothels: "You here in Andalusia know it very well," he said in reference to the ERE case. "It is curious that those who raise the flag against prostitution are clients of brothels," he added.

And regarding the trans law, Feijóo has said that it "represents the erasure of women", which is why he has accused the Government of being "hypocritical" in terms of equality. In this sense, he has referred to reports of men who "laugh at women" requesting a gender change due to a "nonsense" law that "discriminates against Spanish women."

"Just as you cannot give lessons about corruption after amnesty, a party that has in its biography the law of only yes means yes and the Koldos and the Tito Bernis cannot give lessons on equality. This party cannot give lessons. of equality to anyone," Feijóo attacked the Government at the moment that drew the most applause from the public.
