The plea of a child with a rare disease: he asks for the suitcase with his respirator to be returned

The family of Christofer Zambrano, 7 years old, is desperate after the theft of the suitcase from their car with the respirator that the child needs to sleep.

The boy suffers from autism spectrum disorder and Ondine Syndrome, a rare disease that affects his breathing. When Christofer falls asleep, his brain does not give the command to breathe. Hence he needs the respirator to stay alive.

This weekend, the family was shopping in the Cuatro Caminos area, in Madrid, and a suitcase containing the child's respirator and several medications was stolen from their car parked on Palencia Street.

The family is waiting for the red suitcase with a painted dinosaur to be returned. "We don't want money, but the life of the child, who is in that suitcase," the parents plead in statements to Telemadrid.
