The main doctors' union denounces the lack of professionals in the Pinto outpatient clinic

The Amyts doctors' union has reported to the Labor Inspection the "dramatic" situation at the Parque Europa health center, located in Pinto, which should have seventeen doctors, but now only has four and on March 12 there were a single professional in the morning and another part-time in the afternoon.

In a statement, Amyts demands urgent action from the Ministry of Health and asks it to take into account the rescue plan that it proposed months ago to build the eighteen health centers - Parque Europa, among them - that have an extreme shortage of doctors of family and paediatricians and that leave 400,000 Madrid residents without an assigned doctor.

The doctors at the Parque Europa health center, where there is usually an average of between six and eight unfilled vacancies and sick leave, have been alerting the Primary Care Management of "overload" for months, but "they have never been given effective solutions." .

Amyts urges the Labor Inspection to carry out the corresponding actions in this "down" center, seeing that the "inaction of the Community of Madrid has caused new occupational diseases."

Several professionals have had to request medical assistance due to anxiety crises and have even had to request psychological support from the Community of Madrid's Comprehensive Care Program for Sick Health Professionals (PAIPSE), requesting sick leave due to a work accident.

The union accuses the Ministry of Health of turning a "deaf ear" to Amyts' request to rescue health centers that are difficult to cover and assures that if this problem is not tackled, the centers in the area will be affected because the overloads the rest, creating "a very worrying domino effect."

The committee to monitor the Primary Care strike agreements - made up of members of Amyts, scientific societies and Primary Care medical associations - presented a rescue plan months ago for this type of health centers, without obtaining a response from the Community of Madrid.

Health expects Parque Europa to return to normal in a few days.

The Ministry of Health hopes to recover "normality" at the Parque Europa health center in the coming days, with the reinstatement of the sick and reinforcements with other professionals.

As of today, Health sources specify, three new professionals have been hired, so that, at this time, there are four doctors and the possible transfer of another four doctors is expected, while the medical leaves of the doctors from that health center that is not available at this time.

On the other hand, they indicate, the Telephone Assistance Center (CAT) attends to some demand absorptions, opens up gaps in the agendas of doctors from health centers close to it, in addition to continuing to have fundamental nursing assistance and the administrative part of the same. clinic.

The Ministry of Health explains that the mobility process agreed with unions - this is the fourth consecutive process of internal mobility in the region - results in numerous Primary Care professionals having decided to move or develop their professional activity in other health centers. in the region, as is the case of Pinto, which has three health centers, including Parque Europa, which has seen its number of professionals decrease.

"This is one more consequence of the generalized lack of health professionals pointed out by the autonomous communities to the Minister of Health, Mónica García, in the last Interterritorial Councils of the National Health System and to which the Community of Madrid is no stranger," they state. sources from the Department headed by Fátima Matute.
