The latest CIS barometer keeps the PSOE ahead in vote estimates

The CIS barometer for the month of July gives the PSOE, contrary to any of the polls carried out in recent months, an advantage of 1.4 points over the PP.

The party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo would obtain 29.6% of the votes while the PSOE would reach 31%. This figure places the Socialist Party only two tenths below the June poll (barometer) and almost two points above last May from the public institute.

The CIS has only estimated the PP as the winner on one occasion, in the sample obtained in the pre-election survey that it made public a few weeks ago.

The PP, according to this CIS poll, would have lost voting intentions compared to the June poll when the monthly barometer gave it 30.7%.

The poll continues to place Sumar ahead of Vox, as it did in the previous sample from last June. Sumar would obtain 15.5% of the vote and Vox would stand at 11.7%

The poll, due to the dates on which it was carried out, does not include the result of the face-to-face between Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo last Monday.

In the struggle between the Catalan independence parties, while ERC lowers its voting intention by 0.1% compared to June (1.7% currently), Junts widens its disadvantage with Esquerra, with an expectation of 1.1% at a distance of 0.6 points while in June the distance was only 0.2%.

The best valued leader is once again the second vice president of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, with a score of 4.84 out of 10, followed closely by President Pedro Sánchez, with 4.79, which improves his result in the June barometer , when he obtained a 4.68. The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, remains in third position among the preferences of those surveyed, with 4.46. The only leader who lowers his score compared to last month is Santiago Abascal, who stays at 2.82.

Regarding the confidence generated by the candidates for the presidency of the Government, Pedro Sánchez inspires, for the most part, "no confidence" to 37.3% of those surveyed. On his side, the opposition leader, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, inspires "little confidence" at 36.26% and "none" at 32.4%.

The July barometer reports that among the main political leaders in this electoral period, Pedro Sánchez leads the preference to currently occupy the position of President of the Government with 28% support. In second place is the PP candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo (21.4%), in third place Yolanda Díaz de Sumar (12.2%) and in last place is the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, with 6 .4% support. Similarly, the study indicates that just over 18% of those surveyed prefer that none of them be the president.

The main problems for citizens are, according to the CIS, unemployment and the economic crisis (tied at 14.5%). They are followed by political problems in general (13%) and the bad behavior of politicians (7.1%). Regarding the barometer for June, unemployment fell two points as the main concern while the bad behavior of politicians rose two.

The CIS barometer also offers data on vote movements with respect to the last general elections. In the left block, Sumar would bring together 8% of the voters of the PSOE in 2019 and 60% of the voters of United We Can. Those who trusted Más País four years ago would now choose Sumar by 42.1%, while 28.3% would trust these elections in the PSOE. The Socialist Party, for its part, would convince 14.9% of UP voters.

On the right, the Ciudadanos decision not to stand in the 23-J elections opened up the possibility for the rest of the parties to win their votes. The CIS for July shows that 50.6% of Cs voters would now vote for the Popular Party, while 6.7% would vote for Vox. The PP also manages to win votes to the extreme right, specifically 17.5%.
