The rain colors the Llobregat river chocolate

In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate the chocolate-colored water in the Tres Salts del Llobregat, located very close to Viladordis (Manresa).

After yesterday's rain the river flows down strongly and with this brown tone due to the sediments it drags, as can be seen in the video images.

Between Sant Benet de Bages and Viladordis, there is a section of the Llobregat river, known as Els Tres Salts, since there is a rocky cut. After heavy rains, a lot of water comes down. This phenomenon is also known as Eyes of the Llobregat.

The water descends with force, crossing the natural slope, giving rise to the creation of a natural dam. Furthermore, in the shelter of this natural space, evidence of ancient buildings that channeled the water of the Llobregat are preserved.

In major floods, Els Tres Salts become a single waterfall. It is formed where the river passes through a thick layer of rock that is more resistant to erosion than the rest.

The rock of Els Tres Salts is a limestone of marine origin rich in fossils. You can see how caves form at the foot of the waterfall. This place has been used in the past, as evidenced by the ruins of a mill on the right.

In this other series of photographs I show yesterday's storm in Sant Llorenç del Munt already reaching the town of Matadepera, in Vallès Occidental, a scene that could be seen in the skies of Catalonia in various regions with the latest rains.
