The King goes out to sea to prepare for the regattas

The King spent the day at sea aboard the Aifos, the Navy sailboat with which, starting Monday, he will compete for the Copa del Rey Mapfre to be held in the bay of Palma. Meanwhile, the bad weather in the Atlantic at the height of the Rías Baixas has left King Juan Carlos ashore, who has not left Pedro Campos' house, waiting for an improvement in the weather conditions that will allow him to climb the Bribón again. .

After his arrival in Mallorca last Wednesday, the King received the Balearic authorities on Thursday in the traditional hearings that take place in the Almudaina palace. He then embarked on the Windrose of Amsterdam together with a group of friends with whom he sailed along the Mallorcan coast.

Sailing this Friday had to join the Aifos crew and prepare to participate in the regattas. El Rey, wearing a polo shirt, shorts and a cap, embarked at the Porto Pi naval base, near the Marivent Palace, and after greeting to all the members of the crew, he took the helm to set sail towards the high seas. In the middle of the afternoon, the ship returned to port after several hours of training. The King is expected to board the Aifos again this Saturday and Sunday to improve her preparation for the regattas, since during the year she does not train with the crew skippered by Admiral Jaime Rodríguez Toubes.

In Sanxenxo, the rain has not allowed King Juan Carlos to get back on the Bribón and he has spent the whole day at Pedro Campos's house where, for a few hours, he has been accompanied by his crewmates.

For this Saturday, weather permitting, the first test of the XXIV Carlos I Silgar Hotel Trophy, 36th Ruta de Las Islas Regatta, organized by the nautical regatta chaired by Pedro Campos himself, is scheduled to qualify for the Spanish Cup. and the pass to the participation in the World Championship.

According to the Efe agency, cloudy skies are expected with little rain early in the morning, morning mists and that the day opens around the time the regatta is scheduled to start for the 6M boats, among which is the Bribón, which leads the general classification with 12 points, two more than Titia, second classified, both under the banner of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo
