The judge sends photographer Jordi Martín to the bench for harassment and injuries to Clara Chía

The photographer Jordi Martín will finally sit on the bench to answer for the crimes of harassment and injuries to Clara Chía, partner of former soccer player Gerard Piqué. The judge who is investigating the case opened after the young woman's complaint against the paparazzo's practices has issued this Friday the order to open the oral trial. The accused faces a request for five years in prison from the prosecution and the magistrate has established a bail of 20,000 euros that he must deposit within 24 hours.

The instructor sees signs of criminality based both on an insistent and continuous persecution that occurred in private areas and on a forensic report that determined the impact that this continuous stalking caused on the complainant, who saw the normality of her day altered. day and required medical attention.

Martín is the author of the first photos that were published in the press, both of Clara Chía alone and with Piqué. Although in his defense he has always appealed to the news interest that the couple aroused after the former soccer player's separation from the Colombian singer Shakira, the photographer invaded private areas to carry out his work, sneaking into the wedding of a friend of Piqué's as well as accessing the private parking lot. of the farm where the Kosmos company is domiciled, owned by Piqué and where Chía works.

In the order in which he decreed the closure of the investigation, the judge also referred to the chases that the paparazzo carried out of the couple in a vehicle at high speed, putting the physical integrity of the complainant at risk. Likewise, he referred to Martín's participation in various popular television programs where he made Chía's social media profiles public.

Given these facts, the complainant obtained a restraining order in a resolution that only has one precedent in Spain, paradoxically issued in favor of Shakira when she had the same lawyer who now represents Chía and Piqué, the criminal lawyer David Velázquez.
