The Teresianas of Tarragona building is already centenary, as indicated by the banner hanging on the façade, in the heart of Rambla Nova. It is one of the most symbolic and important architectural samples of the city center, which was portrayed for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos both outside and inside.

Let's say that everyone, visitors and tourists, notices it. It even resembles the one in Barcelona, which is located in the area of Ganduxer Street and Via Augusta. The one in Tarragona was previously a convent of the religious order of Saint Teresa of Jesus, the Teresianas, but later it was only a school.

When it was built, it was a little on the outskirts of what was the urban area, but now it is the center. Its original architect was Bernadí Martorell i Puig, who closely followed the modernist architectural line of the master Gaudí. It is a building made entirely of reddish brick and is a masterpiece and is full of details of Catalan masonry.

The reddish color of the walls was achieved through the application of brick and the inclusion of parabolic arches in its access door speak to us of a language that expresses the modernism of the time.

In the lobby there are columns that have Gaudinian memories. Behind this space is the convent chapel, blessed in 1926. Currently the convent no longer has a boarding school, it functions as a school. Due to various circumstances, although the work began in 1922, it was not completely finished until 1949.
