The Icelandic city of Grindavik could be buried by lava

The volcano that has erupted again in Iceland in recent hours seriously threatens the city of Grindavik, after the lava has already melted several houses in its path. These are images that put on alert the three thousand five hundred residents of this Icelandic town who fear that the laundry will continue advancing towards the rest of the urban center and endanger all homes.

This is the second time that the volcano has erupted, after it did so for the first time on December 18. After the expulsion of several lava flows towards the town of Grindavik, the situation was considered stabilized on December 22, the day the residents were able to return to their homes.

Today uncertainty returns in this municipality located just fifty kilometers from Reykjavík because the activity of the volcano is unpredictable for now. It so happens that the magma has emerged towards the surface through two fissures, one in Grindavik itself and another where the containment dikes were built.
