The heat wave leaves the Valencian Community with a torrid night with lows above 30º

The 42.9 degrees that the thermometers in Xàtiva marked yesterday Wednesday represent the maximum registered yesterday in the Valencian Community and a record so far this year. The Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat has established the end of the orange pre-emergency due to high temperatures that affected the south of Valencia, due to the locally notable drop in maximum temperatures, with drops of up to 10ºC in some points, which will be accompanied by a probability of showers, without ruling out storms, on the north coast of Alicante.

The sky will be slightly cloudy or clear and will increase at cloudy intervals, with cloudiness of daytime evolution in the interior, where isolated showers will be likely in the afternoon. The minimum temperatures will register a decrease in the northern half and will rise in the southern half; while the maximums will experience a locally notable decrease.

The drop in temperatures can be seen in the highs: on Wednesday they were between 37ºC and 40ºC in large inland and pre-coastal areas of Valencia and Alicante, but this Thursday the highs are around 30-33 degrees in the province of Valencia . In Alicante, municipalities such as Ontinyent can reach 37ºC and the provincial capital expects a maximum of 33ºC.

In the case of Xàtiva, which with 42.2ºC registered the highest temperature this Wednesday, today the maximum is 31ºC, with a drop of more than ten degrees. In Castellón, the maximum ranges between 25ºC in municipalities such as Morella and between 31 and 32ºC in the capital of La Plana, Vall d'Uixó or Vinaròs.

In the far north, a moderate northwesterly wind will blow with strong intervals; in the rest, light to moderate east component wind, especially on the coast.
