Near the town of Calders we can find this giant and beautiful specimen of holm oak cataloged with the name of Arola, a very beautiful corner and worth visiting that we portray today in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

This holm oak is also a survivor of the great fire that broke out in this area of Bages and Moianès in 1994. In fact, you can still see burnt inside the trunk.

The Alzina de l'Arola was declared a tree of local and regional interest. It has a 21-meter crown and a height of 14 meters, which gives it a monumental appearance, as can be seen in the images.

The oak tree is located between cultivated fields and the Balma del Cargolaire road, which connects the town of Calders with the castle, along the ridge.

It stands out for its majestic figure cut out over the fields and its views of the Vintró mountain range and Sant Llorenç de Munt, with Montcau. The area is currently enabled as a leisure space.
