The Government sees in Ayuso's statements a "racist, very dangerous and irresponsible speech"

The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, has described this Thursday as "racist, very dangerous and irresponsible speech" the statements that the president of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, made on Wednesday about alleged sexual assaults in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) by of a group of immigrants.

Ayuso blamed the Government for the “great wave” of more than 1,200 immigrants transferred to a reception center in the Madrid city, enabled since last November, and stated that the PSOE carried it out through “night planes, and in secret.” Likewise, the president of the Community listed “the fights, outbreaks of scabies and serious brawls” recorded by the center, to which she added the “investigation of several sexual assaults reported by women in the municipality.”

Redondo has proclaimed that "immigration cannot be assimilated with violence, because that generates hatred and builds a wall between society" at an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum, which was also attended by the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martin.

"We are in a historic moment in which we have to turn the page on xenophobic clusters and attitudes, which do not help coexistence," said the minister, who described the statements as "irresponsible, and even more so when they come from a president." of a community.”

Likewise, Redondo has assured that "from the Government of Spain we will do everything possible to counteract these hate speeches that are so harmful to coexistence and democracy", and has asked Ayuso to rectify his words to help "find a peaceful way." of coexistence", although the minister has stressed: "I don't think I'm going to do it."

Martín has also asked the Madrid president to “apologize to the migrant community” after revealing that the data provided by the National Police on the two sexual assaults that occurred in Alcalá de Henares are not linked to the migrants.

The Government delegate has denounced "that Mrs. Ayuso knowingly lies to link sexual assaults and insecurity to immigration is racism", after reiterating that "this complaint that has been presented is not at all linked to migrants, there is no "There is no evidence that links them to these sexual assaults, according to what the National Police has told us."

For this reason, Martín has criticized that "criminalization" for the connection of sexual assaults with migrants from the Community of Madrid is "absolute nonsense" and has stressed that "Ayuso is lying." In this context, the Government delegate has joined Redondo and has demanded that the Madrid president apologize to the migrant community and rectify her statements.
