A Reus judge has provisionally released the four tourists arrested this Monday for an alleged assault on a taxi driver in Barcelona, after canceling the trip and replacing him with a VTC car. According to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) to the Efe agency, the case is open for a crime of injuries.

The arrested tourists were placed this morning at the disposal of the investigating court number 3 of Reus, on guard duty. Finally, the judge has decreed provisional release for the accused with the obligation to appear in court when required.

The events occurred last Monday, when the four arrested, who were staying in a hotel on Barcelona's Rambla del Raval, asked for a taxi to go to the Reus airport. However, when the vehicle arrived at the location, the tourists were found loading their luggage into an Uber-type car.

As a consequence, there was an argument between both parties that led to the attack on the taxi driver by the four accused. Finally, the tourists took the VTC vehicle and headed to their destination, where they were detained by the Mossos d'Esquadra.
