The former Miss Spain Mª José Besora compensated with 22,000 euros for a montage on Facebook

María José Besora was one of the most popular faces in our country in the 1990s. She became popularly known in 1998 when she won the Miss Spain pageant. After her participation in the well-known contest, the Murcian woman continued with her professional career in the world of modeling, while participating in different television programs of the time, which caused her face to be present in different magazines of the heart.

However, not everything was rosy on his path and in 2014 he had to face a complicated situation related to a montage on social networks. And that same year, an internet user published on the social network Facebook a montage of the model with her daughter in which the image of Ramón Luis Valcárcel also appeared, a politician who was president of the Region of Murcia.

The photograph had a full impact on current events in our country and in a matter of hours numerous rumors began to circulate claiming that the model had a relationship with that public official and that he was also the father of her daughter. ''I lost a contract that I had signed to present a literary event and I stopped being the image of two companies: one in the cosmetics sector and the other in culture,'' the model stated that same morning at a press conference, as and as reported by the media El Español. ''I have only seen that person twice in 25 years and at public events,'' Besora explained.

Now, ten years after what happened, justice has ruled in favor of the model and the Court of First Instance number 12 of Murcia sentenced said user to pay compensation of 22,000 euros to Besora for a crime of illegitimate interference in his right to honor and image and that of his daughter.

''It has been a long time waiting and in these years I have heard real atrocities. They could have linked me to a painter, a yoga teacher or any other person who would not have had such an impact,'' the model declared.

Furthermore, María José Besora claimed that the controversial image caused a lot of problems in her professional life, to the point of stopping working in the Region of Murcia. I went from being a loved and valued person in the Region of Murcia to losing contracts. I used to do a lot of galas and was the image of some things, but all that was lost,' she said. Of course, the woman from Murcia was proud of what she had achieved because the sentence was going to mark a before and after in the world of social networks. ''There has to be very clear regulation and limits that are met,'' she asserted.
