The fed up of the neighbors leads to the arrest of a family clan that trafficked in Benidorm

National Police agents belonging to the Judicial Police Narcotics Group in Benidorm have arrested six people who, allegedly, were part of a family clan that trafficked cocaine and heroin.

In the operation - which has resulted in a total of eight arrests - this security force carried out seven searches, seizing 485 grams of hashish, 87 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of heroin, a high-end vehicle, cutting and weighing utensils. of drugs and 83,810 euros in cash.

According to the Headquarters, the Police learned from several neighborhood complaints that a family clan living in Benidorm could be selling narcotic substances, specifically heroin and cocaine, which they distributed in small doses, that is, at retail.

The researchers soon began a series of surveillance devices to verify that this initial information was correct. They observed that, indeed, various apartments and premises close to each other were used, some for the sale of drugs and others for storage, homes known as "kindergartens." In addition, there were other properties intended for sale and consumption in the same place, locations called "narco rooms."

These homes, being located in the same block or in buildings very close to each other, affected the entire neighborhood, producing a devaluation of the area, due to the patently illicit activity that took place there and that caused "the general boredom of the neighbors." ", highlights the Police in a statement.

The investigations focused on the two main "actors of the criminal network" - a young couple, a man and a woman of Spanish nationality, aged 23 and 24, respectively - who were involved in the incessant activity of distributing narcotic substances.

This couple was acting together with other relatives and, thanks to the surveillance and the parallel property investigation, the possession, by those involved, of various nearby properties that they used to carry out the distribution and sale of the doses was confirmed. It was also found that consumption sometimes occurred in common areas of the affected blocks, in view of any neighbor who might pass by.

Other crimes had proliferated significantly in the vicinity of the homes investigated, greatly increasing the real and perceived insecurity of the surrounding area.

In the exploitation phase of the operation, seven searches were carried out in Benidorm and one of them in La Nucia. Various relatives of those involved tried to "undermine and weaken police intervention, drawing attention and distracting the officers from their tasks, with screams and various grievances," the Police note.

485 grams of hashish, 87 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of heroin, 156 grams of cutting substance, 1 precision scale, 85,810 euros, 1 high-end vehicle, 8 televisions, 4 telephones and various computer equipment were seized.

Two of the searches carried out were in premises located on the ground floor of a block of flats. Upon entering, they found that two women of Cuban nationality, aged 25 and 34, who were in an irregular situation, were living, rented by the investigated couple. and the premises did not have the minimum equipment to be habitable, lacking ventilation and smoke outlets.

Six arrests were made related to drug trafficking, membership in a criminal group and money laundering. The alleged suspects are two women and four men, Spanish, aged between 62 and 23, all of them belonging to the same family. Five of them already had previous arrests, some for similar events.

The investigators have been able to specify that the assets, including real estate and other assets, of the main person investigated are estimated at more than 500,000 euros, with none of the protagonists, aged 23 and 24, having any type of known legitimate income or work. . The proceedings have been transferred to the Benidorm Guard Court of Investigation.
