The driver of a car died this Wednesday in a head-on collision with a truck on the C-221 in Batea (Terra Alta), as reported by the Catalan Traffic Service. For reasons that are being investigated, there has been a collision between two vehicles at kilometer 70 of the road.
As a consequence, the person driving the car has been killed, while the driver of the truck has been less seriously injured and has been transferred to the Mora de l'Ebre Hospital.
With this, there are already 35 people who have lost their lives on Catalan roads in 28 fatal accidents during the first quarter of 2023. These figures represent an increase of 6.25% in victims than, in the same period of 2022, according to a balance of the Catalan Transit Service (SCT).
