The documentary by Alexia Putellas, nominated for the Emmys

The docuseries of the Catalan soccer player Alexia Putellas is one of the nominees for the International Emmy Awards, which recognize the best television programs broadcast and produced outside the United States and will be awarded in New York on November 20.

As in other editions, the Emmys have a large presence of Latin American programs and there is at least one nominee in each of the 14 categories, coming mainly from Brazil (7 nominations), followed by Mexico (4) and Argentina (4), more Spain (1) and Portugal (1).

Alexia. Labor Omnia Vincit, produced by You First Originals for Amazon Prime Video, is the only candidate from Spain in this 51st edition of the contest and competes for the award for best sports documentary along with the Mexican 30 Días para Ganar, the Australian Harley

The documentary about Putellas, a Barcelona player and the only soccer player to win the Ballon d'Or twice, follows the athlete during 2022 and shows her high moments and other less pleasant ones, such as the conflict with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) or an injury.

Brazil stands out in the soap opera section with Cara e Coragem and Pantanal, which compete with the Portuguese Para semper and the Turkish Yargi (Family secrets), and in children's content, with Menino Maluquinho, candidate in animation, and Quintal TV - Season 2, in factual content.

To these titles, the Ibero-American giant adds the documentary Dossiê Chapecó - O Jogo Por Trás Da Tragédia, about the tragedy of the Chapecoense soccer team; the series Lynchings and a reality show called A Ponte - The Bridge Brasil.

On the part of Mexico, the short series La Caída competes for the awards of best miniseries and best actress, for Karla Souza; and in addition to the sports docuseries 30 Days to Win, the artistic program Los Tigres Del Norte: Historias Que Contar has been nominated.

Argentina also stands out with two series: Iosi, El Espía Arrepentido, which is up for the awards for best drama series and best actor, for Gustavo Bassani, as well as El comercial, best comedy; and the live-action children's show Tierra incognita.
