The Davis champions debut the most luxurious Lexus, a mix between a limousine and a minivan

The Lexus automobile company became the unexpected protagonist of the Davis Cup Finals. As the official vehicle of that phase held at the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace in Málaga, the firm celebrated the passion of the tennis players in one of the few opportunities in which they can play as a team for their countries with the presentation of their powerful Lexus Electrified .

Consisting of electric vehicles such as the RZ 450e, plug-in hybrids such as the RX 450h and NX 450h and hybrids such as the NX 350h, RX 500h and ES 300h, this range also includes the new LBX and Lexus LM.

In the first time that this totally new vehicle for Lexus in Europe, which the firm describes as “luxury transportation,” was exhibited in Spain, its design that combines the qualities of a limousine with the spaciousness of a minivan was a surprise.

"There is a true connection between Lexus and Davis Cup, with customers and fans seeking luxurious and unforgettable experiences. With a strong emphasis on Lexus Electrified, the partnership with Davis Cup celebrates the synergy between the energy of one of the most exciting tennis tournaments in the world and the excitement of driving a luxurious electric or hybrid Lexus model...", explained Aurelio García, head of marketing and communication at Lexus.

In his opinion "there are many values shared with tennis, from the culture of effort to the idea of creating completely surprising experiences because in the end, a Davis Cup final is much more than sport." It is, for both tennis players and fans, what the World Cup is for soccer players and soccer fans, completed in this sense Feliciano López, director of the tournament in which Italy won the title last Saturday.

"It is very special. A tournament in which the best can play worse than ever and those who do not have a ranking have completely surprising results," said Feliciano López, who warned that in that sense "it is also a bad time" because, when representing to your country, "you have a much greater responsibility" and "your defeat affects many more people" than when competing individually.

Italy's victory was relatively surprising. But more so the success of the public that barely left an empty place at the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace in any of the rounds despite the absence of the Spanish team. The fact is that Malaga "has an incredible fan of tennis as well as many large communities from countries as varied as the United Kingdom, Finland or the Netherlands, which creates an always very special atmosphere," as Feliciano López explained.

That, along with the recent support of Lexus as a partner of the ATP since this year (although it was already a sponsor since 2019) suggests that Málaga could repeat. "Since the format changed we have taken everything, let's see what happens in the next finals," explained the director who hopes, of course, to repeat in Malaga where everything is prepared and everything fits together.
