The dance of the Moon and Jupiter

Spectacular couple dancing in the sky of Gavà, in the Baix Llobregat, with the Moon and Jupiter for a beautiful postcard photograph that we see in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

Conjunction is one of the main aspects of the planets. It is also applicable to any celestial object that is located visually close to another.

Two stars are in conjunction when, observed from a third (generally the Earth), they are at the same celestial longitude.

A characteristic of Jupiter is that it has the shortest day in the solar system: it only takes 9 hours and 55 minutes to rotate around itself. This rapid rotation speed, along with its gaseous nature, gives Jupiter a slightly oblate shape.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, 318 times larger than Earth. It is also the oldest planet in the solar system and also older than the sun. It is a massive gaseous body, made up mainly of hydrogen and helium.
