The controversy over the Holy Week poster in Seville arrives in Malaga with a mass of "redress"

The Holy Week poster in Seville created by the artist Salustiano García continues to cause people to talk inside and outside the capital of Seville, as in Malaga, where a mass "in reparation" has been called for a work considered blasphemy and sacrilege. The mass took place this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the convent of the Mercedarian Mothers of Malaga.

The poster announcing Sevillian Holy Week in 2024 shows the image of a very young resurrected Christ covered slightly from the waist down, an image in the purest style of the painter Salustiano García, who was inspired by his son Horacio to portray Jesus.

García's beautiful Christ has unleashed criticism from many faithful and brothers, who consider the poster disrespectful, blasphemous and insulting, in addition to not representing Sevillian Holy Week.
