The Conde de Godó Trophy broke attendance records in 2023

Carlos Alcaraz was crowned champion on Sunday on the Nadal court of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 (RCTB), thus putting the icing on the cake for a new Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell-Conde de Godó Trophy that turned out to be a complete success. The exhibition of the Murcian against Tsitsipás, in addition, allowed him to revalidate his title in Barcelona and keep alive the fight to overtake Djokovic as number one in the world.

The Godó Trophy, an essential stop on the ATP circuit season after season, one of the most valued by all tennis players, continues to try to improve with each passing year and in 2023 it has achieved it again.

If on the clay of the RCTB the tennis players have offered a great show, with the icing on the cake of a final worthy of a Grand Slam between number 2 (Alcaraz) and 5 in the world (Tsitsipás), in the stands and in the different specially designed spaces for the public during the week of the tournament, the success has also been resounding.

In 2023 the tournament attendance record has been broken, with the public increasing by 14% compared to last year's edition. In fact, the barrier of 100,000 people has been broken for the first time, reaching an impressive figure of 100,189 people, compared to the 88,091 who attended the tournament in 2022.

Ticket sales grew by 15%, propelled by new formats such as the Ground Pass, which allowed spectators to access the Godó venue and from 6:00 p.m. also to the center court if there was room. Activity in the Village has also been frenetic, always a meeting point for Barcelona society.

Once the tournament is over, it's time to take stock and put the notes, before planning next year's edition. And it seems that the numbers corroborate the sensations, the Godó has once again been a success at all levels.
