The Community of Madrid negotiates with Rayo the transfer of the football stadium outside of Vallecas

The Community of Madrid, owner of the Vallecas Stadium, maintains "constant and fluid" conversations with the Rayo Vallecano board regarding the possibility of moving their fiefdom outside of Vallecas.

After last Saturday the newspaper 'AS' published an interview with the president of the regional government, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, in which she pointed out that "it is increasingly unsustainable" for the team to continue on its Vallecas field, sources from the The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports told Europa Press that "constant and fluid conversations" are being held with the club's board of directors, given that the Community is the owner of this field.

In his interview in the sports newspaper, Díaz Ayuso advanced these conversations with the Rayista team to find a new location for their stadium, since "it is increasingly unsustainable for them to remain in Vallecas." "The club needs a stadium adapted to the current reality," added the president, who added that the club had already even seen "a series of lands" for that possible new location. "The idea is to give up land and have them pay for the new stadium," explained the leader.

For his part, the president of Rayo Vallecano, Martín Presa, in statements to the media before the match with Sevilla FC played in Vallecas this Monday, was satisfied with the Community's position, while defending the need to increase the capacity of its current court or move to a new one.

Precisely, the Municipal Socialist Group announced this Tuesday that it will seek the commitment of the Municipal Board of Puente de Vallecas to "preserve the location of the Rayo stadium" against the "whim of the president of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso."

It will do so through an emergency motion that they will defend in the next plenary session after Ayuso's statements, who in an interview in 'Diario As' referred to "the unsustainability of the stadium in its current location."

"The club's fans and supporters clubs reject the proposal, as they attribute the poor conditions of the stadium to the negligence of the regional government," alleged the group led by Reyes Maroto. The socialist spokesperson in Puente de Vallecas, María Caso, has declared in a statement that Rayo Vallecano "is more than a club and Vallecas cannot be left without one of its symbols due to a new whim of Ayuso."

The PSOE will urge the Board and the competent area to transfer to the Community of Madrid "that the permanence of the team in its current stadium be guaranteed and that the pertinent reforms be made to ensure that the stadium continues to be the heart of the district that beats every time the team plays on Albufera Avenue.
