The collective exhibition '25 years Baleària' opens in Dénia

The exhibition "25 years Baleària" arrives in Dénia to commemorate the history of the maritime transport company that this year celebrates a quarter of a century. The exhibition will open tomorrow at 8 pm in the El Taller Turia room of Els Magazinos, and can be visited until November 5.

This collection brings together the works of several artists from different parts of the Mediterranean: Balearic Islands, Valencian Community, Andalusia and Ceuta. In addition, Valencians Zingraff, Joan Castejón, Xavi Garcia, Ramon Pérez Carrió, Ximo Canet, Empar Boix and Francisca Revert participate in this group exhibition.

The plurality of origins of the artists involved has the purpose of "continuing to promote the exchange of ideas, cultural development and coexistence between the populations of the different territories that the shipping company connects," the company notes. Each author has exclusively created a work faithful to his artistic style, thus collecting a sample of various disciplines, among which painting, sculpture, photography and ceramics stand out.

The exhibition is a special recognition of the cultural promotion that the Fundació Baleària has carried out during these years, facilitating cultural exchange between artists from the territory in which the company is present.

Ricard Pérez, president of the Baleària Foundation, highlights that "Baleària has always been linked to the culture and roots of all the territories where it is present" and emphasizes that "this exhibition not only reviews the history of Baleària, but also vindicates and puts local culture in value. Throughout these 25 years as a company we have always had the objective of contributing to cultural exchange, social cohesion and the well-being of citizens," says Pérez.

This exhibition was created with the purpose of traveling by sea and celebrating the 25th birthday of the shipping company through the Fundació Baleària's Llonges de la Cultura. The exhibition premiered in April in Ibiza, was exhibited during the month of May at the Espai Sant Josep in Ciutadella and in June passed through Mallorca. After its stay in Dénia, the exhibition will go to Ceuta and Melilla, among other territories.

In addition to the Valencian artists mentioned above, the Mallorcan Joan Costa, Natatxa Lebedeva, Tomeu Canyellas, Joan Pascual, Xisco Ramis and Mariano Mayol are also included in the list of names who have signed a work for 25 anys Baleària; the Minorcans Zulema Bagur, Florit Nin and Paca Florit; the Ibizans Carles Guasch, María Catalán and Diana Bustamante; the Andalusians Ana Uceda and Ángel Zabala, and the Ceuta native Alejandro Pedrajas.

The exhibition can be visited until November 5 in the El Taller Turia room, located at 19 Pont Street, in the Els Magazinos de Dénia gastronomic market. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 2 and 6 to 9 p.m.

In addition, today the exhibition "The Art of Posidonia" opens, organized by the Dénia City Council, the Cambrils City Council and the Ibiza City Council with the collaboration of Baleària, which can be visited at the Casa de la Marquesa Valero in Palma , in Dénia, until November 5.

On the other hand, this Saturday the 7th the Baleària Foundation, the Town Hall of Els Poblets and the association Art with B have organized the pictorial intervention "Blinds with Art in Els Poblets", where 14 artists will transform the blinds of some of the town's houses in works of art.

The Treballadores exhibition will also be on display all day in Plaça del Castell and at 12:30 p.m. the Aprons parade will take place with the collaboration of the Dones d'Els Poblets association. To complete the day, there will be a popular lunch and a parade organized by the Musical Union of Els Poblets.
