Next year, the citizens of Amposta will have to pay 36% more for the garbage collection fee and 10% more for the IBI. They are the main chapters that will increase collection in the proposed tax ordinances for fiscal year 2024.

The municipal government of ERC hopes, with these measures, to obtain a minimum of 1.2 million additional euros - compared to the 17 that they had to collect this year - to face the increase in the CPI, salaries, and energy prices. and interest on loans.

According to the mayor, Adam Tomàs, the increase will leave the fiscal pressure in the municipality around six euros per inhabitant per month. "We had no choice: when we could lower taxes, we lowered them," he argued.

The municipal government of Amposta will increase the direct tax burden on citizens in line with what several cities in the territory have already announced.

"I believe that no city council, perhaps one that has extra income, does it, but with an increase in the CPI, bank interest, electricity, laying a shovel of asphalt costs three times as much as it did two years ago. We have the responsibility of ensuring that the municipal structure is sustainable and the investment," he assured.

Tomàs has said that an effort has been made to contain spending, within an increase in the CPI of 23% in the last eight years. Also due to the 16% salary increases decreed by the Spanish State -1.5 million euros per year-, the rise in the price of energy -despite the measures applied to limit consumption- and the interest on loans, which reach 680,000 euros annually.

The rate of waste prominently leads the increases, with 36%. According to Tomàs, it is a question of "adjusting" the receipt of the waste to the state waste law, which obliges the effective cost of management to be passed on before 2026.

"For all these years, the City Council has been assuming a deficit of half a million euros annually. Until now we have been able to do it, but not based on the law. We are talking about four million euros of deficit that we have assumed," he specified. . Bonuses for large families and parents will be maintained.

The IBI is the other major chapter that also presents a notable increase. In that case, the urban tax rate increases by 10% to 0.986. A coefficient, as the mayor hastened to specify, that is "below when we came to govern": 0.9964 in 2015. In the case of rustic, the rate of 0.86 existing in that period is recovered. moment. Bonuses for large families, solar panel installations, job creation or local interest entities are also maintained.

In the rest of the chapters, the vehicle tax bonuses are maintained and the rates are frozen except in the cases of between 8 and 16 fiscal horsepower and 10-ton trucks, which are at the 2015 rate. in the IAE received The percentage of companies that invoice more than one million euros rises in all categories of streets between 0.3 and 0.6 in most cases. The capital gain only amounts to 30% in the five- to ten-year operation sections, considering it as a "speculative operation." "The sale of homes by banking entities is increasing and they should be penalized."

Also, related to banking activity, the rate of occupation of public roads by ATMs will increase from 500 to 1,400 euros. "The banking entities that give us so many commissions to our accounts that they are reflected," he said.

The occupancy of tables and chairs goes from 36.5 euros per square meter on average to 45.63 euros, "recovering" the 59.62 euros of 0215 due to the "clear economic dynamization of the city" and the large existing employment. The fords rise by 25%, which is attributed to the CPI.
