The magic of the flowering of the peach trees has already reached Aitona, in the Segrià region, as can be seen in this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

Spectacular colors in the fields and it has caught my attention to see a farmer's house alone in the middle of the purple sea, wrapped in the magical colors of the peach trees.

Many tourists from all over the world are seen taking guided tours in Aitona. A true spectacle of nature that no one should miss.

The main economic activity of Aitona is agriculture, where the cultivation of fruit trees stands out. Since 1989 it has had an agricultural cooperative.

To complement the visit to its flowery fields, Aitona also brings together a history and a cultural heritage. Within the municipal term numerous archaeological remains have been found. In the Genó area, a town from the Bronze Age was discovered. Another one from the same period was found in Carretelá.

You can still see some remains of the castle located on a hill overlooking the city. For its part, the parish church is dedicated to Sant Antolí. It was built in the 18th century and its façade is in the Baroque style. It consists of three ships. Near the center of the town is the sanctuary of Ermita de Sant Joan de Carratalà.
