The Bulgarian national team suffers a serious traffic accident in Georgia

The Bulgarian soccer team suffered a serious traffic accident on Saturday on a Georgian road, where they are concentrated to play a Nations League match against the local team. The player most affected by the crash of the two buses was the Bulgarian player Todor Nedelev.

The 29-year-old midfielder suffered a head injury as a result of the collision between the two buses carrying the Bulgarian expedition, according to the Georgian portal sportall.ge. Nedelev, who was traveling aboard the second vehicle, had to undergo emergency surgery at a Georgia hospital.

After two hours of surgery, during which several glass shards were removed from his head, he was admitted. Nedelev, who plays for Botev Plovdiv, is out of danger and will be hospitalized for two weeks. The footballer has participated in 44 matches for the national team, during which he has scored five goals.

No other player of the Bulgarian national team suffered injuries. The Bulgarian national team was on its way to the hotel on board two buses, when the first braked abruptly and was hit by the second. The Nations League match between Georgia and Bulgaria will be held this Sunday at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi with a capacity of more than 54,000 people.
