The border of the Ribes and Camprodon valleys

In this trip in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia through Catllar, Setcases and Vilallonga del Ter we see how the snow already crowns the mountain that separates the valleys of Ribes and Camprodon, in Ripollès: Puig de Fontlletera.

El Puig de Fontlletera is a 2,581 meter high mountain located in the Catllar range, which separates the valleys of Ribes and Camprodon, between the municipalities of Queralbs and Villalonga de Ter in Ripollès.

It is located north of Balandrau, separated by the Coll dels Tres Picos. One of the possible routes starts from the Refugi de Coma de Vaca and another usual route comes from the track that goes up from Tregurà de Dalt.

In this series of photographs we can see autumn in Setcases, a town located in the north of the Camprodon valley, at the head of the Ter river. The Vallter 2000 ski resort is located in its municipal area.

It is a picturesque town with carefully restored stone houses, streets and alleys that keep all the traditional flavor.

Setcases stands out for its privileged natural and landscape environment, with traditional cuisine and a rural and quiet atmosphere.

The church of Setcases, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, dates from the end of the 17th century. Now, a fire that occurred in 1728 collapsed the roof and the primitive (wooden) vault, and destroyed the doorway.

Its reconstruction ended in 1729. After the Gothic period, it still preserved its construction formulas such as the ogives or ribs supporting the vaults.

We can also see the hermitage of Santa Maria del Catllar (or Nuestra Señora del Catllar), a single-nave Romanesque chapel with an apse and barrel vault located in the municipality of Villalonga de Ter on a hill where the Catllar castle used to be or Castellario, of which no remains are preserved and which gives number to the Catllar or Descatllar lineage. It is a work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
