It was last December 19 when a resident of Los Palacios found a live baby abandoned with the umbilical cord still hanging when she went to throw out the trash. The minor was admitted to the Valme Hospital, where she was treated until she was discharged and went to live with an adoptive family.

He will be with her "provisionally" for six months and then, following all legal channels and protocols, "reach the final adoption." The first deputy mayor and delegate of Social Welfare of the City Council of Los Palacios and Villafranca (Seville), Carmen María Molina, anticipated hours after being located the little girl who would be called Nieves in honor of the patron saint of the municipality and because of the cold it was. the afternoon-night in which she was located thanks to her crying.

The same woman who discovered the newborn stuffed in bags, Antonia Román, volunteered to adopt the baby, although the minor already has another family chosen within the framework of the process stipulated by the Andalusian Government, which took care of of her tutoring during the time she was admitted to the hospital. Now, the same woman has announced that she would be willing to act as a private prosecutor in this case and ask that Nieves' supposed biological mother, as she called the girl, "be in jail for life."

Román, who has learned about the arrest of the alleged parent through the media, has stressed that, as a mother, she cannot "understand what she did," which is why she is willing to be part of the private prosecution if they become contact her to attend the trial.

Asked if she would request a permanent, reviewable prison for her, she said that she would like "her not to leave prison", and recalled that she has asked the Andalusian Government to make it easier for her to see the girl "from time to time". since he has only been able to do it once, the day after rescuing her, in the hospital.
