The best bet: telemedicine and high-quality in-person care

When we talk about health, the ideal choice is one that allows you to use the best professionals and hospital centers, as well as have the broadest portfolio of services. To achieve this, there is nothing better than having MAPFRE, the first general insurance company in the field of health in our country, backed by more than 1,100,000 policyholders and with higher recommendation rates.

In recent years, MAPFRE has promoted the digitalization of its health services, promoting telemedicine with 2 large projects: the MAPFRE Salud and Savia app. The app is available so that customers with a health policy can directly manage their services and access video consultations, medical chats, reports or online analytics, and also self-service, which allows them to decide where and when to carry out procedures and streamline procedures.

MAPFRE de ENRIC ROS's desire to be at the forefront is reflected in the creation of its own “Digital Hospital”, which is used to schedule appointments, manage prescriptions, prescribe leaflets or coordinate referrals to preferred centers. The Digital Hospital has already launched the specialties of dermatology and endocrinology, to which 8 more disciplines will be added before the end of the year. Emergency video consultations have been excellently received by policyholders, with a satisfaction rate of 90%.

Furthermore, 62% of clients have positively valued that, with this service, they have avoided going to an in-person visit. Likewise, MAPFRE has launched an innovative digital physiotherapy pilot program, in collaboration with the startup Trak, based on Artificial Intelligence, to treat patients remotely through personalized therapeutic exercises guided virtually and by voice. This way, they can receive immediate feedback or ask a physiotherapist about their questions.

Savia, MAPFRE's digital health platform, already has more than 440,000 registered users and nearly 110,000 paying customers. With it, the user can take control of their health at any time of the day from and throughout the national territory, through a wide catalog of services with more than 56 clinical specialties.

One of Savia's latest projects is the figure of the “Personal Doctor”, which reproduces in-person consultations in a virtual environment, and which is included in the Savia Plus and Premium Plus Personal Doctor subscriptions. This service accompanies patients, providing personalized attention through video consultation, telephone and messaging with the same professional. The management team helps the doctor to proactively monitor the health status of their patient. You can choose your doctor and have unlimited video consultations and messages, with a response time between 24 and 48 hours.

Recently, MAPFRE has also launched Savia Silver, a new service for the well-being of seniors, the population over 55 years of age which in Spain exceeds 16 million people. This solution integrates digital assistance with in-person or home support to cover general medical care and specialties. It also offers individualized plans with follow-up, such as a training program, as well as a dependency help guide. This initiative has obtained the Supercaregivers 2023 award, which recognizes the work of entities that work to improve the quality of life of the senior population.
