The Barcelona railway map is redesigned to make it more understandable

The map of the railway network that is visible in all metro, train and tram stations has undergone a redesign to make it more understandable. The degree of information has been reduced and the layouts have been moved away from real cartography to simplify it. In addition, the different means of transportation are better differentiated – each with a different line – to put an end to the mess that was generated until now in the densest part of the map.

The redesign bears the signature of Jug Cerovic on behalf of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) and has been done with the future in mind since it leaves the space blank to incorporate, someday indefinitely, the central section of L9, the tram junction along Diagonal, the extension already in works of Railway L8 and the planned extensions of metro lines 1, 3 and 4.

Rodalies and Tram can already be found at the stations, TMB and FGC will make the change in the coming weeks. At the same time, it has been used to incorporate an interactive version to consult from a computer and mobile phone in a more pleasant way.
