The Barcelona Beach Festival begins after an agreement

The nerves have been present until the last moment but finally the story has ended well. The Barcelona Beach Festival has opened its doors this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. on the Fòrum beach and Parc de la Pau, as planned.

The differences between the City Council of Sant Adrià del Besòs and Bombers have been unraveled a few hours before the start of the festival, after an online meeting between the general management of Bombers, led by Joan Delort, and the mayor of Sant Adrià, Filo Cañete. An in extremis agreement has been closed there that has allowed obtaining the favorable risk prevention report to be able to issue the license and hold this one-day summer festival, one of the most important in Europe for electronic music.

Hours before the musical date took place, Cañete gave more details on Xavi Bundó's Via Lliure program, on Rac 1, and explained that Bombers agreed to "ratify its report based on the 2019 report and send that ratification to us so that we can carry out this license." In addition, he reported that from Live Nation, the promoter of the festival would sign a declaration of responsibility ensuring that the festival complied with the same conditions as in 2019, the last year it took place and that a mandatory report was obtained from Bombers.

Solving this mess, the organizers have opened the doors at 3:00 p.m. and an hour later, at 4:00 p.m., the party has kicked off with total normality and without the incidents that were feared that would occur in the event that there were no the festival took place.

Organizers, DJs and the public were eager to see each other again after two years of postponing the meeting due to the pandemic. “We have been waiting for this day for months. We are glad that everything has finally been resolved and that we are here, ”Aleix G., one of the attendees, assured this medium. "We just want to have a good time," added Laura, her partner, shortly after taking a selfie with the entrance bracelet and the stage in the background.

The great protagonists of the night have not hidden their illusion either. The vast majority of them were already in Barcelona when the controversy broke out and waited attentively to the progress of events, such as Sunnery James, who published a 'story' hours before on his Instagram in which he explained his nerves and his desire for power perform this saturday.

Other greats of electronic music are also expected tonight, such as Marshmello, who offers his only performance in Spain in Barcelona and who, according to Pino Sagliocco, director of the BBF, "is considered the most important DJ in the world at the moment".

In addition to the American future bass, electronic and electrohouse producer and DJ, the event brought together a luxury line-up that had already planned to perform at last year's edition, including Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas

The alarms sounded on Friday after the consistory rejected the activity license for the event 24 hours before its celebration, since it lacked the mandatory report from the General Directorate of Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue of the Generalitat, which carries out Bombers . Given this scenario, the organizers announced a lawsuit against the mayor of the municipality and assured that they would not give up the celebration.

The attendees had been waiting for the news for hours because, despite the give and take between the administrations, the possibility that this great electronic music festival could take place at the last minute, attended by fans from different parts, was never ruled out. of the world. In fact, at no time did ticket sales stop.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior had alerted Cañete that canceling the music festival in this way could generate a problem of public order. For this reason, the mayor contacted the Mossos, the Port of Barcelona and the Urban Guard of the Catalan capital yesterday to explain the situation to them, because "public disorders can occur and the Sant Adrià Local Police do not have the capacity to deal with them not even if he assigned all his agents”. The festival started, none of this has happened nor is it expected that incidents of any kind will occur throughout the night.
