The Aragonese PP negotiates until the last minute with Vox the formation of the Table of the Cortes

In Aragon, the road to the presidency of the popular Jorge Azcón goes through its first great milestone this Friday: the formation of the Cortes. The former mayor of Zaragoza has handled himself since his victory in the elections with great caution that contrasts with the rapid outcome of Valencia or the well-known break in Extremadura. A laborious process of negotiations with various groups -Vox, Teruel/Aragón Existe, Partido Aragonés- that, a few hours before the start of the XI legislature, it is not yet known if it will bear the desired results.

In order to facilitate his future inauguration, PP sources confirmed this Thursday that the party is considering ceding a vice-presidency of the Table of the Cortes to Vox in exchange for them facilitating the election of the president of the Chamber tomorrow - whose name has not yet been revealed - and a future pact that allows the popular to govern alone, the primary objective of their candidate.

In principle, the proposal fits with the requirements of Vox, which described as "insufficient" the initial offer to occupy a secretary. However, the far-right formation, headed by Alejandro Nolasco, has also insistently demanded to enter the regional Executive to assert the seven deputies harvested, and it is not certain that this vice-presidency in the Table is enough to appease their aspirations.

The regulation establishes that this Friday the president of the Chamber will be elected, in a first vote, by an absolute majority among the names proposed on the ballot papers deposited by the 67 deputies. If 34 supports are not obtained, the election will be repeated between the two that have obtained the most votes, already by simple majority.

Equally important throughout this process are the three deputies from Teruel/Aragón Existe and the one held by the Aragonese Party, who would free Azcón from appearing in the photo alone with the ultras. Its leaders, Tomás Guitarte and Alberto Izquierdo respectively, have shown themselves willing to negotiate with the PP, especially to obtain counterparts in Teruel's institutions, although for now neither acknowledges having closed a definitive pact that guarantees their support.

For its part, the PSOE does not intend to make it easy for the popular. Encouraged by what happened a few days ago in Extremadura, the Secretary of Organization in Aragon, Darío Villagrasa, did not rule out this Thursday presenting his own candidate for the Presidency of the Autonomous Courts if the PP does not close an agreement with Vox beforehand.

The socialist also expressed his "concern" about the possibility that PAR and Teruel Existe make "the game, the fat broth" to the PP and asked them to take a picture. "Putting yourself in profile for a while may be worth it, but tomorrow you have to vote (...) They are going to have to make decisions," he warned after the Executive meeting.

After the meeting, it was also reported that the current Secretary General of the Aragonese Socialists and acting President of the Government, Javier Lambán, will take tomorrow the act of regional deputy that corresponds to him, although his name will be the PSOE proposal to hold the senator that corresponds to it.
