The Andalusian invention to transport paellas without burning that has won a world competition

A lid to transport paellas without burning your hands and that maintains the heat of preparation has won the international competition 'WorldStar Awards 2024', one of the most prominent international events in the container packaging sector that aims to project the advances to the world of design and technology within the industry.

It is an invention of the Andalusian brand Copack and has competed against 434 other works originating from 41 countries previously awarded in national or continental competitions. The Spanish projects presented had been recognized by the Liderpack Awards, organized by the Graphispack Association and the Hispack show at Fira Barcelona.

From Copack they explain that its creation arose from the owners of the Mis Paellas restaurant, which is located in Chiclana (Cádiz). After an initial concept developed by these hoteliers, the company refined and improved the prototype until reaching the product they sell today.

The invention consists of a lid that, thanks to its side handles, allows you to move the paellas from one place to another without getting dirty and without the rice losing quality. You just have to place the lid on the paella and insert the side handles through the grips so that it does not move.

Two or four pieces of cardboard (depending on their size), the company explains, double as mittens that can be separated from the lid to transport the paella when it is still hot. These are foldable to optimize storage and are made of food-grade cardboard to avoid damaging the environment.

With eight awards, Spain is, once again, among the ten countries with the most trophies in this competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and which visualizes the innovation of the packaging industry at a global level.
