The 50th edition of the El Prat Poultry Fair brings together 70,000 people

The traditional Poultry Fair of El Prat de Llobregat, which this weekend reached its 50th edition, brought together some 70,000 people, the City Council said this Monday in a statement. Attendance is "slightly higher" than last year, they added.

During the event, held at the Granja de la Ricarda, 9,500 plates of squid chicken, the traditional bird of El Prat, were distributed. A year ago there were 7,500. On the other hand, 950 tastings have been carried out in the gastronomic space and the number at the wine fair has reached 8,000 tastings.

To celebrate the anniversary of the 50th edition, a commemorative exhibition was held and the Baix Llobregat Gastronomy and Tourism Association (AGT) premiered a documentary about the history and future of the phenomenon that can be seen below.

During the fair, in addition, the City Council reported on its project to create a foundation to promote the breeding of pota blava chickens among the population of El Prat de Llobregat.
