Summerfest Cerdanya exceeded 18,000 attendees in its first edition

The Summerfest Cerdanya festival closed its first edition in Puigcerdà last night with an attendance of 18,013 people and a great success in occupation, according to the event itself, organized by Clipper's Live and El Badiu with the support of CaixaBank.

In this coming-out, a varied and eclectic line-up performed on the main stage of the Summerfest, with Antonio Orozco, Nil Moliner, Lola Índigo, Sergio Dalma, El Pot Petit, Dani Martín and Taburete, who closed the edition yesterday. These last three names managed to hang the sold out sign. But this activity was joined by those hosted by the Village space organized by Tipis Cerdanya, which remained open to everyone.

The mayor of Puigcerdà, Albert Piñeira, described the cultural and recreational proposal that has taken place in the midst of the summer tourist season as "powerful" and confirmed that "this is a long-term commitment, because the Summerfest Cerdanya has the will to continue".

The organization has the objective of creating the essential event of the summer in the Cerdanya area, in which, in addition to the concerts - among those that fell at the last minute from the cartel that of Els Pets, returning last Friday the amount of the tickets–, the Village has offered, both on the days of the concert and the remaining eight days and from 5:00 in the afternoon to 2:00 in the morning, an extensive program with workshops and activities, a market area with more than seventy local exhibitors and a stage with monologues and live music by emerging artists and DJs, such as Jxta, Martin, Cece June or Agüita con Sal. And as far as the gastronomic offer is concerned, the Village of the Summerfest Cerdanya has had the presence of Cal Blay Food Lovers.

The president of the Clipper's Group, Juli Guiu, assures that "we have been working with great enthusiasm on this project for some time and we have finally been able to make it a reality". “We are very happy to have fulfilled this objective –he adds–, and for the great acceptance and reception that the festival has had. We continue to work enthusiastically so that Summerfest Cerdanya continues to be the meeting point for the people of the area in future editions”.

Guiu thanks the effort of the team involved, as well as the support and trust of CaixaBank and the group of sponsors, as well as the Puigcerdà City Council and all the residents of the area.

This first edition, which ran from last August 13 until yesterday the 27th, has abounded in the prominence of the Pyrenean region of Cerdanya during the summer months, together with Cerdanya Music, at a time when the music scene music festivals are basically concentrated on the Costa Brava.
