Spain will donate armored vehicles, missile batteries and long-range ammunition to Ukraine

Hours after the Ukrainian ambassador to Spain lamented that the central government has not sent weapons for more than three months so that the Ukrainians can defend themselves against Russia, the Ministry of Defense has reported that Spain "has not stopped sending material " of war.

And proof of this, according to the ministry headed by Margarita Robles, is that during this month of August field artillery, armored vehicles and a battery of missiles have been prepared to be placed "immediately" at the disposal of the Ukrainian authorities.

This Wednesday was the second time that the Ukrainian ambassador to Spain expressed his discomfort with the Spanish government. "We cannot say that we are satisfied", he complained to him in the morning at a press conference. Pohoreltsev, already threw a dart in the presence of the Defense minister at the beginning of the month: "If you want to help, you always find a way to do it." The Defense response, this time, has not been long in coming.

Through a press release, Defense ensures that Spain "continues to support the Ukrainian people in their struggle to defend the peace and freedom of their country against the Russian invasion." "In all this time, our country has not stopped sending material for the legitimate defense of the Ukrainian people, although for strict security reasons, and others that affect other countries, the details have not been specified," explains the statement that followed. goes on to report the next material that is ready to be sent.

On August 17, explains Defense, the Ukrainian authorities were informed that "after a thorough consolidation of components", they already had at their disposal in a Spanish Base and ready for delivery, a total of more than 1,000 full rounds of ammunition from long range, prepared in 75 pallets of 1 cubic meter. Given the weight and characteristics of the large caliber ammunition, the offer of an allied country to carry out the air transport to the destination indicated by the Ukrainian authorities has been accepted.

Said transport is expected to take place at the beginning of September, for which the national overflight authorization has also been coordinated.

The acquisition and delivery to Ukraine of 1,000 tons of diesel oil for an approximate amount of 2.5 million euros has also been authorized.
