The Provincial Council of Tarragona leads a European project that aims to find a technological solution to food waste.
Noemi Llauradó, president of the Tarragona Provincial Council, presented this Tuesday the project has a global budget of 801,739.88 euros, 90% financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
Starting this Tuesday and for two years, the Tarragona entity will coordinate this social initiative called Soulfood and which it will execute jointly with four local partners - Redessa and the El Roser de Reus Social Center, the Espigoladors Foundation and the Catalunya Sud ICT Cluster - and another four from Lithuania, Romania and Greece.
The partners will meet at the end of the week in Reus to start looking for the best formula to send agricultural surpluses to social entities. The intention is for a local company to be in charge of developing the new digital tool.
