The analyzes of the water from the Sorpe reservoirs, in Pallars Sobirà (Lleida), have come out clean of nonylphenol, the chemical component detected last week that has forced the restriction of drinking water consumption in this municipality and also in Peramea, Rialp, Alins and Massalcoreig, in the Segrià.
The Health Department hopes to have between this Monday and Tuesday the results of the other municipalities affected by this pollution problem that is being investigated but everything indicates that it could be a "one-off episode."
At the moment, Sorpe City Council has already been informed that the water is suitable for consumption.
Since last Wednesday, residents had to use bottled water for drinking and cooking, as in the other affected municipalities.
The Provincial Council of Lleida is responsible for paying the costs of supplying drinking water to the municipalities affected by the appearance in the distribution networks of this chemical component linked to industrial detergents.
