Social Security Music for the "Sorolla Year"

In the Marina of Valencia, whose light the maestro Sorolla portrayed so well, another new tribute was paid to the painter this Tuesday, this time through the song "Everything is light", sung by the Social Security singer José Manuel Casañ. Visit València has reached an agreement with the group to add lyrics and melody to the art of the illustrious painter through a pop song that says "light, everything is light (...) Sorolla continues to radiate us like you."

The proposal was born on the occasion of the centenary of the artist's death, during which the city is hosting various exhibitions and activities to remember the artist. In this case the video seeks to promote, nationally and internationally, the city of Valencia as a "destination rich in historical, artistic and musical culture."

The most iconic locations in València appear in the production, from L'Albufera, the Carmen neighborhood or the Lonja steps, to the exhibitions that are currently open to the public about the artist, the "Sorolla Immersive Exhibition", located in the Marina, and the painter's works in the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia.

Mayor María José Catalá participated in the presentation of the meeting, who announced the proposed appointment of Blanca Pons-Sorolla, granddaughter of the painter, as Adoptive Daughter of the city. Catalá highlighted that Pons-Sorolla “has contributed to the prestige and dissemination of one of the greatest Valencian artists” and recalled “the dedication of a good part of his life to the study of the biography and work of Joaquín Sorolla, with results memorable bibliographical works”.

In her parliament, the mayor reaffirmed the city's commitment to Sorolla's legacy - “València wants to give back to the painter everything he did for her” - and announced that, to "reinforce ties with the family", there will be a new exhibition on the figure of Joaquín Sorolla in the Benlliure House Museum.

Also participating in the event were José Manuel Casañ, singer and leader of Social Security, who has celebrated 40 years on stage, as well as fashion designer Alba García, who presented some models from her 'Fashion and Sustainability' collection, made up of clothing avant-garde and committed to the environment in which images of Sorolla's work were glimpsed.
