'Sea Baby', the maritime drone that Ukraine uses to neutralize Russian ships

The Ukrainian security service (SBU) publishes new images of its maritime drone nicknamed 'Sea Baby', a weapon exclusive to Ukrainian forces.

These "unique" drones are capable of carrying up to "800 kilograms of explosives over 800 kilometers in moderate storm conditions," according to the SBU, which claims the drones were used to attack the Russian-built Crimean Bridge and ten Russian ships between 2022 and 2023.

Despite this new type of weapon, Ukrainian forces continue to face the constant danger of Russian mines, drones and missiles in the Black Sea. However, Ukraine claims to have been able to export 10 million tons of products on 302 ships to 24 countries since August along its maritime corridor.

The Ukrainian Maritime Guard and the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces patrol about 200 kilometers (124 miles) of coastline and the ports of Pivdenny, Odessa and Chornomorsk, as well as Izmail on the Danube River further south.
