Sant Pol de Mar will renew the pedestrian walkway over the N-II

The Department of Territory of the Generalitat has put out to tender the works to build a new pedestrian walkway over the N-II as it passes through Sant Pol de Mar (Maresme). This action, which is being tendered for an amount of 265,000 euros, will improve road safety and the mobility and accessibility of pedestrians. Work is expected to begin in mid-2024 and have a completion period of five months.

The walkway over the N-II road will connect the urban center of Sant Pol de Mar, giving continuity to Verge de Montserrat street, towards the area of interest of the Sant Pau hermitage. It will replace an existing walkway, which shows some signs of deterioration, with a wider and more accessible one.

The new structure will be mixed, metal and concrete, and will have a length of 27 meters and a useful width of 1.8 meters. The work will include the adaptation of the access to the walkway at its northern end, so as to facilitate better accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and will be completed with tasks to promote drainage and integration of the structure into the environment.
