Sanitat announces that Castelló will become a single interdepartmental health group

The Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez, has announced that the province of Castelló will be a single interdepartmental health group, within the framework of the new territorial organization of health resources that is being developed in the Department.

The head of Health has explained that this group will serve to coordinate the actions of the three health departments of the province; Castellón, Vinaròs and La Plana.

The councilor made these statements after the meeting held with the managers of the province's health departments, following his previous visit to the Vinaròs Regional Hospital.

Gómez recalled that in this way his commitment to establishing a specific regulatory framework for the improvement of Health in the Valencian Community is launched. "So much so," he assured, "that this week the processing of a decree begins to address the special circumstance of departments with positions that are difficult to fill, so that, from the professional's point of view, it materializes." in economic incentives, curricular benefits and provision of places.” “Likewise, from a global organizational point of view, with the creation of interdepartmental health groups,” he continued.

With this new territorial organization, the 24 health departments are maintained, whose resources and operation will be coordinated by the interdepartmental health groups, whose total number is not yet defined, although the minister places it between 6 or 8.

In this sense, the councilor explained that these groups "are constituted as management organizations and in each of them there will be a steering committee, which will be made up of the managers of the corresponding health departments." “Each committee will assess in a comprehensive and global way the health deficits in each of the areas and all the necessary mechanisms will be put in place to satisfy them,” he added.

Marciano Gómez has stressed that the objective pursued by the current Consell is “to achieve continuity of care for citizens, to do so we must delve into the optimization of infrastructure, both architectural and technological; as well as in the mobilization of personnel to be able to care for patients in the corresponding place.”

The councilor has stated that with these measures “balanced, equitable healthcare will be achieved and where the quality of patient care will be improved.”

On the other hand, Marciano Gómez has referred to the investments that the Ministry of Health is going to make in 2024 in the province of Castellón and which amount to a global amount of 24 million euros.

In the Health Department of Castellón, in addition to the 2 million euros contemplated to tender the drafting of the project for the new General Hospital of Castellón, the Department will allocate 4 million euros for the expansion of the emergency department of this hospital center. An investment of 4 million euros in the Castellón Provincial Hospital and 1.2 million euros in the Magdalena Hospital is also planned. In addition, investments are planned for the construction of the new auxiliary center in Vilafamés and the new health center in Oropesa; and the reform of the Castelló-Sequiol health center.

As for the department of La Plana, more than 2 million euros are budgeted for the expansion of the La Plana Hospital. Likewise, investments will be made to expand the Montanejos auxiliary center and the La Vall d'Uixó and Moncofa health centers; and for the reform of the Vila-real IV health center.
