Residents of the Russian town of Rostov on Don know how to give new life to New Year trees. It is about its launch in a competition where the neighbors who send the fir tree the furthest are rewarded. In this third edition, about thirty people wanted to participate and most of them did so as a family.
With this contest, the organization aims to promote the recycling of these Christmas elements, since once the competition ends they are treated in such a way that they are used for composting or animal feed, which satisfies the neighbors who are most sensitive to the environment. atmosphere. In addition, participants receive special bonuses at grocery stores participating in the initiative, in exchange for delivering their trees.
The winner of this year's throw was Dmitry Rozum, 35 years old, with a distance of 9 meters and 40 centimeters, well above the mark achieved last year, which was 7 meters and 78 centimeters.
In total, the organization has collected more than 1,500 New Year's trees that were removed to dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner.
