Renault joins forces with China's Geely to make hybrid and combustion vehicles

The Renault group, with factories in Seville, Valladolid and Palencia, yesterday formalized the creation of two subsidiaries. The first, called Ampere, and in which the American Qualcomm Technologies will enter, should go public in the second half of 2023. In a statement, Renault explained that, in addition to Qualcomm, it also intends to make alliances to develop “breakthrough technologies” in electric vehicles with Google.

Ampere will be based in France and within its structure, dedicated to manufacturing and marketing 100% electric vehicles of the Renault brand, will have a workforce of around 10,000 employees. It plans to produce six models to market between now and 2030 with the goal of reaching one million vehicles in 2031, with a growth of 30% per year in the next decade.
