Registered an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 with an epicenter in the waters of the Gulf of Cádiz

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has registered in the early hours of this Tuesday, September 5, an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude on the Richter scale with an epicenter in the waters of the Gulf of Cádiz without incidents in Andalusia.

According to the information consulted on the IGN website, the earthquake occurred at 02:49 a.m. with an epicenter one kilometer deep.

Three hours earlier, the IGN recorded another earthquake of magnitude 3.2 at 11:27 p.m. in the same area and subsequently earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 were also recorded with the epicenter in Iznájar (Córdoba) and Torre Alháquime (Cádiz).

The Andalusian 112 Unified Emergency Service has not received calls in relation to these earthquakes and is not aware that they have caused personal or material damage.

In the event of earthquakes, Emergencies 112 Andalucía recommends that evacuation be carried out once the earthquake is over. In the case of being inside a home or office, it is necessary to gather all the cohabitants and go outside, always using the stairs and using the elevator is prohibited.
