Real Madrid travels to Los Angeles without Kubo, signed by Real Sociedad

Real Madrid completed their last training session on Tuesday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas before heading this afternoon, at 3:00 p.m., to Los Angeles (California, United States) where they will continue their preparation with three friendlies. Takefusa Kubo, a 21-year-old Japanese player, whose departure from the white team for Real Sociedad has already been confirmed, will no longer be on that expedition. Yes, Karim Benzema will rejoin, who enjoyed a few extra days of vacation and will join his teammates directly in the United States.

On the west coast they will first face Barcelona in the early hours of Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 July (5:00 Spanish time) at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. His next match will be on Wednesday the 27th (4:30 a.m. Spanish time) at Oracle Park in San Francisco against Club América from Mexico, where Álvaro Fidalgo, a former Real Madrid youth player, plays. They will finish the tour on Sunday, July 31 against Juventus at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles (4:00 Spanish time).

Three preparation matches for the first title of the season, the European Super Cup that Real Madrid will play on August 10 in Helsinki (Finland) against Eintracht Frankfurt. A meeting for which the tickets available for the fans of each club have already been distributed: 8,000 for the Germans, 1,800 for the Spanish. The demand for the Europa League champion team has been much higher.

Takefusa Kubo has been announced as a new addition to Real Sociedad for the 2022/23 season. The agreement between both clubs was closed at 6.5 million euros and a contract until 2027, five years in which he will receive a salary of one million per campaign. However, Real Madrid keeps 50% of its rights thinking about a possible future sale and a repurchase clause that gives preference in case of matching another team's offer for the player. His termination clause will be 60 million, the same as that of the other two summer signings of Real Sociedad, Mohamed-Ali Cho and Brais Méndez.

The Japanese had no place in this Madrid, where the quota of non-EU chips was already covered with the three Brazilians: Éder Militao, Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo Goes. On the other hand, at Real Sociedad he will be the only non-EU national, since the Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has British nationality. Despite having been trained in the FC Barcelona youth academy and having spent several years playing in Spain, between Real Madrid and transfers to Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe, the young Japanese still does not enjoy Spanish nationality.
