Puente: "If any information from the Koldo case leads to a loss of confidence, there will be more dismissals"

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has assured that he cannot predict whether there will be more dismissals in his department due to the Koldo case, but if there is any investigation that results in a loss of confidence, that person will be dismissed.

Puente has stated that with the information available to him so far, the only justified dismissal has been that of the Secretary General of State Ports, Álvaro Sánchez Manzanares, because "he had disappointed the trust" that was had in him, without prejudging what may have happened. fact, and has argued that in that scenario they could not maintain trust.

"The rest will be seen," he said, when asked by journalist Bernardo Guzmán in Encuentros SER in Valencia if there could be more people involved from his Ministry, adding that he has only been in the portfolio for three months and "obviously" has no connection with the events. that happened before his arrival nor any personal connection with those who are still in a position and were there at the time under investigation.

However, he has specified that he is not able to predict whether there will be more dismissals derived from the Koldo case, and has assured that he is trying to shed light on a situation in a difficult scenario, in which there are those who "want to shed a lot mud without much justification", alluding to the fact that everything is corruption and everyone is "in trouble", he said verbatim. And that is why he has defended that the truth must be discerned and found and the consequences that that truth requires must be applied.

The PP has said that it is not "the reference authority" in matters of this type due to its "recent history in matters of corruption", which should place it "at the very least, in a situation of prudence."

Asked by the former minister José Luis Ábalos, now in the mixed group after not handing in his certificate of socialist deputy for Valencia, as the PSOE demanded, Minister Puente has stated that he has experienced that situation "with a lot of heartbreak" because he has a special affection towards him, beyond the political.

"The only people who let you down are the ones you trust, and I'm quite disappointed," he commented on Ábalos, who says, according to Puente, that he doesn't have any blanket to pull.

He has also asserted that there are people - without specifying - who are not up to the task of the Socialist Party and its 150 years of history and it gives the impression that they do not know how to reciprocate but, he has defended, one must know how to be and have high-mindedness and awareness of the organization to which one belongs.
