Promotion of the investment plan to expand and improve the groundwater network

With the declaration of emergency, the drought protocol prohibits the use of drinking water to irrigate and clean public spaces, and the City Council has initiated the plan to adapt municipal services to the new situation.

Between March and September, seven actions planned throughout this mandate will begin, which have been approved with the change in phase. Together, they will add 0.2 cubic hectometers of water available for irrigation and street cleaning.

Mother truck network

Urban cleaning, in this emergency phase, is maintained with the exclusive use of non-potable groundwater to clean streets, sewers, pavements, facades and the like. A network of 28 groundwater supply trucks feed the smaller cleaning vehicles with mobility throughout the city.

The risk of survival is also increased. Until now, 25 green spaces were irrigated where channeled groundwater reached; Now there are 125 more areas that are irrigated with non-potable water, and it is expected that more spaces will be added.
